How Early Should I Book a Broken Bow Cabin?
Lost Lake Treehouse.
The short answerMost of our guests don't book far ahead. The typical stay was booked 6 days before arrival, and only about 1 in 6 booked a month or more out. Longer stays, Lost Lake Treehouse and Sunday–Thursday arrivals book a bit earlier. If a specific weekend matters, booking early costs you nothing: with us you get a full refund if you cancel more than 5 days before arrival.
What our guests actually did
I looked at when guests booked across our five cabins since mid-2025, about 600 stays:
- Half booked within 6 days of arrival.
- 47% booked a week or more ahead, and 35% two weeks or more.
- 17% booked a month or more ahead.
- Only 5% booked two months out, and about 1% three months out.
By cabin
| Cabin | Typical days ahead | Booked 30+ days ahead |
|---|---|---|
| Lost Lake Treehouse | 15 | 26% |
| Blue Ridgetop | 7 | 22% |
| Emerald Star | 5 | 19% |
| Adventus | 6 | 12% |
| Blue Night Sky | 3 | 8% |
Bookings made since mid-2025. “Typical” is the median: half of guests booked earlier, half later.
By length of stay
The longer the trip, the earlier people book. One-night stays were booked about 2 days ahead, two nights about 9 days, three nights about 14 days, and four nights or more about 23 days. For those longer stays, 80% were booked at least a week out.
Weekends and holidays
- Weekends: Friday and Saturday arrivals were booked a typical 5 days ahead. Sunday through Thursday arrivals were booked 8 days ahead.
- Holidays: last Thanksgiving, the typical stay was booked 6 days ahead, and none of the 11 stays was booked more than 30 days out. Thanksgiving week still filled up, with 25 of 30 nights booked. Christmas and New Year's were just as last-minute.
Those holiday numbers come from a single season and a small number of stays, so treat them as a pattern, not a rule.
So when should you book?
- One or two nights, flexible dates: a few days to a week ahead is normal.
- A specific cabin for a specific weekend: book as soon as you know. You can cancel for a full refund more than 5 days out, so there's little downside.
- A longer stay or a group: two to three weeks is typical. Adventus sleeps up to 12, so check it early for bigger groups.
- Want the best price: Sunday through Thursday nights cost less. See what a cabin costs.
