Are Broken Bow Cabins Pet-Friendly?

Adventus, one of our two pet-friendly cabins.

The short answerSome are, and some aren't, so check before you book. At our cabins, two of the five welcome pets: Adventus and Blue Night Sky. It's up to two pets, $100 per pet, added at checkout. The other three, Blue Ridgetop, Emerald Star and Lost Lake Treehouse, don't allow pets.

Which of our cabins take pets

Adventus is our A-frame with a playroom. It sleeps 6 to 8, so it's the one for a family with a dog.

Blue Night Sky is the quiet one: a secluded cabin for two, with a double-sided stone fireplace. It's the pick for a couple who'd rather bring the dog than leave it home.

If you're bringing a pet, book one of those two. The others can't take them, and we'd rather tell you now than at check-in.

What it costs

$100 per pet, up to two. You add each pet at checkout, so the total is clear before you pay.

That's usually a lot cheaper than boarding, and your pet gets to come along. You can hang out with them all weekend and take them on hikes in the area. (Check each trail's rules before you go. Some places have leash requirements.)

Why we welcome pets

Honestly, pet-friendly is better for the business than it is a headache.

The headaches are rare, and they usually come from the same thing: surprises. Guests sneaking a pet in, or bringing more than they told us. Once, a guest told us they were bringing two dogs and showed up with four. They left a mess, and my cleaner and I weren't thrilled about it.

That's why we ask you to add every pet at checkout. And every stay, pets or not, gets the same full turnover clean. Here's how we clean between guests.

Our pet rules

Short and plain.

  1. Add every pet at checkout. Up to two per stay.
  2. Don't leave your pet alone in the cabin unless it's crated.
  3. Furniture: we know dogs sometimes can't help themselves, so we provide throws.
  4. Pick up after your dog outside.
  5. Absolutely no pets in the hot tub.
  6. Tell us about any accident or damage.

Dogs, cats, and what to check before you book

We welcome dogs, and cats too. We've hosted a few cats without any trouble.

Whether it's our cabins or anyone's, check three things in the listing before you pay:

  1. How many pets, and is the fee per pet or a flat fee? Policies vary a lot from cabin to cabin.
  2. What the rules are. Furniture, being left alone, the hot tub. If the listing doesn't say, ask.
  3. That the cabin is actually pet-friendly. If you have to guess, message the host and get the answer in writing.
